According to me ....now its a important part of our corporate world... you can see at the time of increments , at the time of Appraisals , promotions list...... infact in daily routine also... how people are doing politics to scratch eachother...

In today`s context, when there is a rat race to reach the top and/or to retain one`s position many people who lack confidence in their own capabilities resort to the easier way of being Yes man to the bosses.this is true irrespective of the size of the organisation and when the level exceeds,it boils down to various negative impacts on the organisation cheking the growth of the organisation.

Within large mutinationals those who are well entrenched in the politics of the organisation often seems to get the large bonuses and also are given higher evaluation mark for doing nothing better than kotowing to all.

Politics has always been a part of organisation in one or the other way. Employees are not given promotion even after employee do well in their process ( its because they fear who else can perform better than that person. Since promotion might change the jjob profile).

I would certainly agree with this. Their people around your boss's secretary their are people buying gifts for others, this all is part of it. Doing the work that is important for boss and not others, I think this all fall into that category.

I think showing the work that you know is good for the organization you work, I would not call it as part of politics. Present times do not have influence of politics this is not a beauraucratic ground.
