Responsibilities
- Deputy of Maintenance Manager - Airfield Civil (M.M. - A.C.)
- Compliance with national and international legal obligations regarding maintenance issues for airside paved areas
- Documentation and Reporting of maintenance activities
- Quality Assurance
- Project Management: efficiently and professionally manage assigned projects
Tasks
I. Airport Start-Up Phase (until April 2008)
- Airport Licensing: Assist M.M. - A.C. in establishing assigned parts for the maintenance manual in due time for the airport licensing and airport opening date (AOD)
- Procedures for runway & pavements maintenance: assist in setting up comprehensive procedures, schedules and frequencies for all relevant maintenance
- Constant monitoring, management, and reporting: coordinate with Maintenance - Airfield Electrical for the implementation of a systematic tool to monitor the serviceability, handle faults, evaluation and reporting
- Telephone & helpdesk: coordinate with Maintenance - Airfield Electrical for setting up cooperation with the call centre organisation for 7/24 availability
- Testing: assist in coordinating all testing activities to be ready for the AOD
- Any other responsibilities assigned by the M.M. - A.C. from time to time
II. Operational Airport (as of April 2008)
- Compliance:
- Taking on stand-by duty from time to time: according to stand-by schedule
- Documentation & Reporting:

- ensure compliance of runway & paved areas with national and international rules and regulations
- ensure compliance of maintenance and construction activities with all safety regulations according to BIAL's safety concept at all times, with special consideration of obligations in the NOTAM process
- Quality assurance:
- track adherence to agreed service levels by contractors
- initiate quality and continuous improvement initiatives
- regularly train contractors on specific airport safety and industrial safety issues

- maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures
- maintain complete records and report all system and infrastructure failures
Performance measures
- Operational readiness of runway & pavements maintenance at AOD
- functioning fault clearing organisation
- required licenses, authorisations and clearances obtained in due time
- relevant parts of maintenance manual completed (maintenance schedules and procedures defined)
- Functioning documentation system
- Service level adherence by contractors (and development over time)
- Regular, timely and high quality reporting on Maintenance Airfield Civil
- Results of safety audit: compliance report
- Completion of assigned projects: budget and time adherence, quality of completion

university graduate in Civil Engineering preferred; additional managerial education (Diploma/degree) preferred |

Work Experience / Know How |
min. 5 years in similar position preferred |

in-depth knowledge on airfield facility management especially on runway maintenance |

knowledge of relevant software tools, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access; preferably also on remote system monitoring concept |
