Roles and responsibility for Systems Engineer, An IT Products Company , Client of Key2jobs, Bangalore :

* Building and maintaining in-house and off-the-shelf network monitoring and management solutions

* Creating and maintaining custom monitoring tools and alerts

* Administering open source databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL)

* Creating productivity tools (web forms, widgets, etc.) for the Network Engineering group

* Capacity planning and base-lining.

Requirements for Systems Engineer, An IT Products Company , Client of Key2jobs, Bangalore :

* 5+ years experience creating custom network management/automation tools and custom web forms with Ruby on Rails/Perl/PHP/Python

* 5+ years experiencing installing and maintaining open source network monitoring solutions

* Extensive background creating multi-vendor SNMP and CLI-based tools (Perl/Python/Ruby)

* In-depth knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol suite, including extensive experience with HTTP, DNS and other Internet technologies

* Strong knowledge of Linux system installation & management

* Experience with MySQL (preferred) or PostgreSQL database management

* Solid background in technical writing (release notes, software documentation, etc.)

* Working knowledge of Cisco IOS is highly desirable

* Experience with C or Java a plus

* BS in Computer Science or related field
